Sleepy Town West By Charles Wysocki 1928-2002 Charles Wysocki's - Sleepy Town West - Custom Framed Limited Edition 1982 Signed and Numbered Lithograph The art of Charles Wysocki is a celebration of the historical richness of the American past, taking its inspiration from the pastoral moods of the small towns of New England and rural Pennsylvania. As he says of his work: "I hope my paintings revive pleasant thoughts... of order and security," much needed in the fast-paced world. Charles Wysocki grew up in a very different world, in a Polish-American neighborhood in Detroit, drawing and painting since a very young age. In 1953, he came to Los Angeles to study at the Art Center School of Design. After a brief return to Detroit to do commercial art, Wysocki came back to California permanently, to live and to work. He enjoyed living in the west, but traveled frequently to Bucks County, rural Maine, and Cape Cod to revisit the scenes which continued to inspire him. Limited Edition Signed and Numbered Lithograph Number 1085 Limited Edition Size 1500 Beautiful Custom Frame, (H29.5" X W32") Image size (H20.25 X W23.5) Doubled conservation matted, with certificate of authenticity. Interested Buyers: Not all Wysocki lithographs are the same nor do they have the same value. This lithograph was a low edition run and sold out quickly. It was also produced during Wysocki's best years, the early 80's. If you check at galleries you will find this print is rare and warrants the price I am asking. I am selling it below market value and am offering this print at a low fair price, as its value will continue to out-pace other Wysocki work. Actual retail is $2227 unframed. I am only asking $1200 framed and double matted. If you would like to see it call me at 651-756-7028.
